A few things to know about wedding etiquettes
When attending a wedding grooms expect guests to know the basic manners and don’t push the limits. At the same time guests expect for the event to be as presumed. One over the other it is a clear thing that a special occasion like a wedding needs to follow some rules. The wedding reception etiquette is partially imposed by the way the grooms plan everything so every decision must be carefully made.
Things to know
When it comes about the basic rules you can’t ignore the fact that no matter the usual wedding reception etiquette there is all about respect to do something or just avoid to. Here are a few mandatory aspects to be taken into account for both parts, grooms and their guests:
You shouldn’t come with the wedding gifts at the reception party. There is a specific time for everything so don’t come here with it.
You should have a place for the band too. It’s not like they will eat in a corner of your restaurant so there should be a table especially for them. For the photographer too and those that need to be around you that way, wedding agent planner included too if it is the case.
You as a guest shouldn’t ruin the first dace moment. It’s not the time to stand up and dance until the grooms haven’t finished their dance and everything is announced.
Wedding toasts aren’t for everybody so unless there is a pre-discussion don’t ruin that time and just stand up to say something.
Don’t ask for money as present. It is rude and more than this it is a silent rule; with other words those who want to give that so be it and lately it seems this is a trend.
Etiquettes versus needs
Sometimes you’ll feel like obliged to follow the wedding reception etiquette hence there are situations when you have to consider the right way. For example it is understandable to have a table for single persons. But don’t include here family members just because they are single at the event. It is not appropriate to exclude them and put them at a table with unknown persons.
Also apart of the wedding type and menu you establish don’t forget about the diversity to please every guest.
